Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) pairs active seniors and retirees who wish to donate their time and talents with nonprofits that address injustices and/or serve the materially poor.
The Challenge
With approximately 550 corps members in 16 geographical areas and one virtual region, serving nearly 400 nonprofits, IVC set a strategic goal to double its volunteer corps within the next 3-5 years.
While IVC has utilized some traditional print marketing tactics, they wanted to focus on strengthening and expanding their online presence to recruit new volunteers and connect with additional nonprofit partners facing staffing gaps or needing support to deliver critical services.
The Solution
Before launching any digital marketing initiatives, Merz recommended a comprehensive overhaul of the IVC website to streamline and elevate the user experience. Built on a strong SEO foundation, the new site launched in August 2025 and has since delivered:
- A clearer invitation to join the IVC community—whether through service, partnership, or giving.
- Greater visibility, helping more individuals seeking purpose in retirement discover IVC.
- A more compelling expression of IVC’s identity—a community where faith, service, and reflection come together in joyful, purposeful living.
Following the launch, Merz has continued to support IVC through a multi-channel digital marketing strategy, including management of the Google Ads Grant and targeted volunteer and partner recruitment campaigns across LinkedIn and Facebook.
