The Challenge

While Myoderm had a great reputation and brand awareness within the US life sciences industry, it struggled to resonate with a global audience as their role in the clinical trial supply market expanded significantly worldwide. The biggest misconception among global audiences was that the “-derm” in Myoderm meant the company created dermatology products or only supported dermatology clinical trials. As the company grew and their portfolio of services expanded to meet their customers’ needs, they asked Merz to rename and rebrand the company. With deep industry expertise in life sciences marketing, we embarked on creating a powerful rebranding campaign.

The Solution

Over the course of eleven months, we worked with Myoderm to conduct competitive research, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, online surveys, and phone interviews with internal and external life sciences industry professionals and customers. After an extensive brand name development and selection process, the name Myonex and the strategic positioning were finalized.

Merz assisted the Myonex team with all necessary assets to prepare for the global launch of their new brand, which included: fully executed brand identity and guidelines, custom website development, new social media pages and graphics, marketing materials, business cards and stationery package, email signatures, merchandise for employees, and a video for the brand launch. Post-launch, Merz remained a committed partner and in 2025 evolved the brand with an updated positioning and website reflecting global acquisitions and expanded offerings.
